I got a couple of nasty bangs at the weekend when I spun at russell and ended up facing the wrong way, collected the first on the front end spinning me 90 degrees only then to be t-boned. Car limped to the pits... no major issues but heading to my chryropractor for a check out this morning... thank you for the HANS!

It depends where you are in the country, but I went to a place in South London called MSAR-safety, their website is http://www.msar-safety.com/ . I would go somewhere and try stuff on, I walked away with racing shoes 3 times smaller than the pair of shoes I went in there for. I wouldn't worry too much about costs as its motorsport after all! Say James pointed you in his direction.
The owner, Malcolm, was excellent, he is a racer himself so knows what he is talking about, made me try on virtually everything and made sure I was comfortable and offered me honest advice. I would highly recommend them. He fitted out The Mansells the day before I went there. He even gave me a lift back home as my car broke down, can't ask more than that!
