With the removal of the high back plate that is an integral part of the original HANS/FHR design, the Simpson Hybrid devices can make getting in and out of a car a lot easier. The dual sliding tether system enhances side to side head movement and vision, offering improved safety. The Hybrid Sport is supplied ready to fit to your existing FIA HANS/FHR posts, but you can also opt to select a version that uses the Simpson M61 quick release system, although you will also need to purchase and fit these alternative posts to your helmet prior to use. Fitting the M61 quick release posts will make connecting to your helmet quicker and easier.
The Standard Hybid model is approved for helmets which are FIA 8858-2002 to FIA 8858-2010 standards or higher, the M61 quick release system can only be fitted to helmets with the FIA8858-2010 or higher. These devices are ideal for rallying due to the frequency of helmet fitting and removal between stages throughout the day. These devices weigh approximately 956g.
